People Buhari must arrest to give his corruption campaign credibility

A few weeks ago, London Times released the names of Nigerians that have looted the country dry since 1999. Isn’t it a wonder that till date, nothing has been done to drag the names on that list before the law. One of the names on this list is that of late Gen. Sanni Abacha. This government like previous governments chose only to go after Abacha’s loot maybe because Abacha is dead and can’t fight back or sound-out the names of his accomplices like Dasuki is doing today. I bet if he was alive, none of his loot would have been recovered. We know countries who are taking their anti corruption war seriously and Nigeria is not one of them. Most of these men (if not all of them) would have been long been executed if they were Chinese. And until our government stop seeking out looted funds from accounts of only dead individuals but also that of living thieves, the so called war against corruption will not only remain a joke but also a disgrace to democracy. Are they telling us that the likes of IBB and others whose names are listed below are above investigation and prosecution? The amount of money mentioned on this list if recovered would be more than enough to place Nigeria as an economic rock-star even above places like Dubai.

If President Buhari’s mantra of total war on corruption must be taken seriously, he must fold the sleeves of his danshiki, spit on his hands and go to battle to recoup as much of our money from the bank accounts of the men listed below, and not just from a dead Gen. Abacha. Nigeria will not be on the road to recovery until these men are made to pay for their wicked crimes. If the president doesn’t prosecute the people listed below, he has clearly admitted to us that he is afraid of them and they are more powerful than he is as the commander-in-chief.

As far as i am concerned, it is nothing but a vocal war against corruption in Nigeria as long as the names listed below are still going about freely. and until we see some action, this government should keep quiet.

Rotimi Amaech was accused by the current governor of Rivers state Nyesom Wike, of spending 150 million dollars of Rivers state funds on president Buhari’s campaign — and Rotimi Amaechi was made a minister while Olisa Metuh who has been alleged to have received 40 million naira from Dasuki is in custody of EFCC facing prosecution. Is this how you declare war on corruption? This government should keep quiet!
